Analisis Wacana Kohesi dan Koherensi Pada Podcast “Langkah Kecil Untuk Dampak Besar” dalam YouTube CXO Media

Abstract

Language plays a crucial role in communication, both spoken and written. In today's digital era, podcasts on YouTube have become an increasingly popular means of communication. Podcasts feature natural conversations that can be analyzed to identify elements of cohesion and coherence in spoken discourse. This study aims to analyze the forms of grammatical cohesion, lexical cohesion, and coherence in conversations on the podcast "Langkah Kecil Untuk Dampak Besar" broadcast by CXO Media, hosted by Putri Tanjung and resource person Prilly Latuconsina. This study used a qualitative approach with a content analysis method. Data were collected through documentation, free listening techniques, and note-taking techniques, then analyzed based on the theory of discourse cohesion and coherence. The results showed that out of 80 utterances, 39 utterance data contained various forms of grammatical and lexical cohesion and discourse coherence. Of the 39 utterance data, 144 data were found to contain grammatical cohesion, lexical cohesion, and coherence. Grammatical cohesion such as endophoric references 6 speech data, exophoric references 30 speech data, demonstrative references 14 speech data, substitution 1 speech data, ellipsis 3 speech data, and conjunction 8 speech data. In addition, lexical cohesion is also found a lot such as repetition 20 speech data, synonymy 24 speech data, antonymy 2 speech data, hyponymy 5 speech data, collocation 3 speech data, equivalence 2 speech data. Meanwhile, in the coherence aspect, markers of meaning relationships between parts were found such as cause-effect coherence 20 speech data, means-results coherence 1 speech data, background-conclusion coherence 2 speech data, condition-results coherence 2 speech data, comparative coherence 2 speech data, additive-temporal coherence 1 speech data, and generic-specific coherence 2 speech data. These findings demonstrate that spoken discourse in podcasts has a regular and meaningful linguistic structure. These findings are important as a contribution to linguistic studies, particularly discourse analysis, and provide a foundation for understanding that digital spoken communication still requires a coherent meaning to achieve message effectiveness.
