This study aims to analyze the application of the best interest of the child principle and its legal consequences in the child adoption decree based on Determination Decision Number 70/Pdt.P/2025/PA.Clg at the Cilegon Religious Court. The research method used is normative legal research with a court decision analysis approach and relevant legal provisions, specifically the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, and Government Regulation Number 54 of 2007. The results indicate that the judges have comprehensively considered the best interest of the child principle, encompassing the child's physical, emotional, educational, and social welfare. The legal consequence of the decision is that the child obtains legal status as a legitimate adopted child with full rights to care, education, and protection from the adoptive parents, without severing the bloodline relationship with the biological parents. The research conclusion emphasizes the importance of integrating the best interest of the child principle in every child adoption decree to ensure optimal protection of children's rights.
