MENURUNNYA SEMANGAT GOTONG ROYONG DI LINGKUNGAN TEMPAT TINGGAL MAHASISWA

The decline in community spirit among students living in student housing has become a growing social phenomenon that affects cleanliness, harmony, and interactions among residents. This study aims to identify the factors that cause the decline in student participation in community activities, analyze the influence of individualism and technology use, and describe the level of student involvement in community activities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach through interviews, observations, and documentation of boarding house owners and student residents at Jalan Belat No. 98, Medan Tembung. The results show that the spirit of mutual cooperation has declined due to busy academic activities, the need for rest, minimal social interaction, and increased use of gadgets that reduce direct communication. In addition, a weak sense of belonging to the environment further exacerbates low participation. These findings confirm that changes in students' lifestyles and a lack of coordination of activities have a direct impact on the decline in the implementation of mutual cooperation and Pancasila values in everyday life.
