Abstract

This Thematic Community Service Program (KKNT) aimed to conduct psychoeducation on "Recognizing and Managing Self-Emotions" for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 7 Tanjung Lago. This program is based on the importance of developing socio-emotional skills in children aged 11-12 years, who are in the early adolescence phase where the ability to recognize and manage emotions is not yet optimal, potentially leading to behavioral problems and adjustment difficulties. The implementation method used a participatory approach consisting of material socialization, ice-breaking (emotion guessing, emotion clapping), and role-play. The results showed an increase in students' understanding of recognizing types of emotions (such as happy, sad, angry, afraid, disappointed), courage in expressing feelings, and the ability to apply simple emotion management techniques (e.g., taking deep breaths and thinking before acting). Students also became more active, confident, and showed empathy in social interactions. This program concludes that psychoeducation with interactive methods is effective in improving students' emotional intelligence, supporting character education, and creating a more conducive learning environment in elementary schools
