Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between internal locus of control and soft skills with work readiness among twelfth-grade students at SMK X. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research subjects were twelfth-grade students from various departments at SMK X, selected using a total sampling technique. The data analysis techniques included descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that internal locus of control had a positive and significant relationship with students’ work readiness (r = 0.477; p < 0.01), which was categorized as a moderate correlation. In addition, soft skills also demonstrated a positive and significant relationship with work readiness (r = 0.652; p < 0.01), indicating a moderate correlation. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis revealed that internal locus of control and soft skills simultaneously had a significant relationship with work readiness (F = 73.64; p < 0.01), with a multiple correlation coefficient of r = 0.689. These findings indicate that higher levels of internal locus of control and soft skills are associated with higher levels of students’ work readiness. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that internal locus of control and soft skills play an important role in shaping students’ work readiness.
