ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA TN. M DENGAN HALUSINASI PENDENGARAN MELALUI PENERAPAN RELATING THERAPY (RT) DI RUMAH SAKIT JIWA ACEH: SUATU STUDI KASUS

Abstract

Auditory hallucinations are among the most common positive
symptoms of schizophrenia. They cause sensory perception
disturbances, in which patients hear voices without any
external stimulus, thereby impairing self-control and social
functioning. This case study aimed to provide comprehensive
nursing care for Mr M with auditory hallucinations through the
implementation of nursing strategies (SP I–IV) and Relating
Therapy (RT) at Aceh Mental Hospital. The intervention was
conducted over six days using RT, which included exploring the
patient’s re lationship with the voices, role-play exercises, and
reinforcement of self-control. Evaluation using the Auditory
Hallucination Rating Scale (AHRS) showed a reduction in the
score from 23 (severe category) to 15 (moderate category). The
daily frequency of hallucinations also decreased from 17 times
to 11 times. These findings indicate that Relating Therapy is
effective in reducing the intensity and frequency of
hallucinations, improving assertive patient responses, and
alleviating emotional distress. This therapy may serve as an
alternative non-pharmacological intervention focused on the
recovery of patients with schizophrenia in mental health
hospitals.
