LITERATURE REVIEW: AKTIVITAS ANTIKANKER BAHAN ALAM BERBASIS DATA SITOTOKSISITAS, TOKSISITAS, DAN MOLECULAR DOCKING

Abstract

Cancer is characterized by uncontrolled cell proliferation, requiring effective and selective therapies. This study reviewed the anticancer potential of natural products based on 20 scientific articles. A literature review method was applied by extracting test models and key findings (IC₅₀/LC₅₀, molecular mechanisms, and in silico outputs). The results indicate multi-target activities, including antiproliferative effects and apoptosis induction via p53/Bax/caspase pathways and Bcl-2 downregulation. Strong quantitative evidence was found for soursop leaf extract against MCF-7 cells with an IC₅₀ of 45–55 µg/mL and viability reduced to 18.9% (100 µg/mL; 48 h). A three-plant herbal formulation showed high activity with IC₅₀ 48–48.89 µg/mL and reduced Bcl-2 expression at ≥60 µg/mL. In conclusion, natural products are promising anticancer candidates, but further selectivity, in vivo, and clinical validation are required.
