Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of an Accounting
Information System (AIS) and a database in improving the
operational performance of QFlorist, a small and medium-sized
enterprise engaged in the sale of fresh flowers and florist
products. This research adopts a qualitative approach with data
collection methods including interviews with the business owner,
observation of business processes, and the design and development
of a database using Microsoft Access. The system design is based
on accounting cycles consisting of the revenue cycle, and
expenditure cycle.
The results indicate that the implementation of an integrated AIS
and database improves the effectiveness of transaction recording,
accelerates data processing, reduces the risk of recording errors,
and generates more accurate and timely financial reports.
Furthermore, the developed system assists QFlorist in managing
perishable flower inventory, monitoring sales and purchase
transactions, and supporting data-driven decision making.
Therefore, the implementation of AIS and a database is proven to
contribute positively to the enhancement of operational
performance and the competitiveness of QFlorist.
