This study aims to analyze the mathematical problem-solving abilities of male eleventh-grade students at SMK Palapa on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV), based on Polya’s stages of problem solving. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with time triangulation techniques, in which data were collected through problem-solving tests and interviews conducted at two different points in time to examine the consistency of students’ abilities and thinking patterns. The results of the study indicate that students were able to carry out the stages of understanding the problem and devising a plan relatively well. In the stage of understanding the problem, students were able to accurately identify the known information and the questions being asked. In devising a plan, students were able to select appropriate solution strategies, although some students still showed uncertainty in choosing the most efficient method. However, difficulties were found in the stages of carrying out the plan and looking back. Students frequently made computational errors and often did not complete the procedures fully, and most did not recheck their final answers. Based on consistent findings across the two data collection sessions, students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities were classified as moderate,. These results suggest that although students possess an adequate conceptual understanding and are able to formulate initial strategies, their abilities in executing and reflecting on solutions still need improvement.
