A misconception is an erroneous understanding formed due to students' early experiences, everyday language that differs from scientific terms, and the teacher's way of explaining concepts that is not yet precise (Ustari, et al, 2024). A misconception is not just an ordinary error but an ingrained understanding or belief that makes it difficult for students to understand the actual physics concepts. Based on a review of ten analyzed journals, the topic of work and energy is one of the topics that most frequently causes misconceptions. Many students misunderstand the relationship between work and displacement, potential and kinetic energy changes, thus thinking that energy is lost when an object stops. From these various studies, the level of misconception is reported to range from 16.5% to 75.86%, with the average being in the medium to high category. This research shows that misconceptions regarding the topic of work and energy are a common problem that needs to be addressed through more concrete, visual, and experience-based learning.
