ANALISIS FENOMENOLOGI EDMUND HUSSERL TERHADAP RITUAL PERKAWINAN ADAT DI BENGKALIS: KAJIAN KESADARAN KOLEKTIF MASYARAKAT MELAYU

The traditional wedding ritual of the Malay community in Bengkalis embodies collective consciousness rich with philosophical meanings and cultural values. This study employs Edmund Husserl’s transcendental phenomenology to explore the structure of community awareness in interpreting wedding rituals amidst modernization and globalization dynamics. Using an interpretative qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentary studies. Findings reveal a layered intentional structure and invariant essences integrating adat and Islamic values, consensus, politeness, mutual cooperation, and ancestral respect. Ambivalence exists between tradition preservation and pragmatic adaptation by the younger generation, yet creative efforts to maintain core ritual elements persist. This consciousness manifests in intersubjectivity that reinforces social solidarity. The study contributes to Husserlian phenomenology’s application in Malay cultural studies and offers vital insights for adaptive cultural preservation strategies.
