This research focuses on an in-depth analysis of the potential negative impact arising from the excessive use of social media on family harmony, specifically evidenced by reduced face-to-face communication and increased conflict intensity. The primary aim was to comprehensively analyze and understand how the negative influence of social media use affects internal dynamics and threatens the integrity of family relationships. The method employed was a systematic qualitative literature review(library research) approach. Data were gathered through a critical review and synthesis of various scientific articles, research reports, and other relevant documents, followed by thematic analysis. The results indicate that uncontrolled social media use significantly reduces the quality of interpersonal interaction, creates emotional distance among family members, and acts as a trigger for conflicts, particularly related to sensitive issues like online privacy and jealousy. The conclusion affirms a tangible and measurable negative influence of social media in diminishing marital harmony. Therefore, this study emphasizes the necessity of increasing digital literacy and the practice of open communication as essential mitigation efforts.
