ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN ALAT INTERAKSI KELUARGA DI SEKITAR REL KERETA API GAHARU MEDAN

This study aims to describe the use of face-to-face communication and digital media in family interactions around the Gaharu railway area in Medan. The method used is descriptive qualitative with five families as informants, through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that face-to-face communication is more effective in building openness, empathy, and emotional support, while digital media serves as a complementary tool that facilitates connectivity, especially with family members living far away. Thus, both forms of communication are used in a complementary way to maintain family harmony amid the challenges of the digital era.
