TANTANGAN PEMBANGUNAN PERKOTAAN TERHADAP URBANISASI DI KOTA TANGERANG SELATAN: ANALISIS DAMPAK DAN SOLUSI

Abstract

Urbanization is an inevitable phenomenon in the process of urban development, including South Tangerang City as a buffer city for Jakarta. The increase in the flow of population movement from villages to cities has significantly encouraged the growth of population and economic activity, but on the other hand it also raises various challenges for urban development. This research aims to identify the challenges of urban development due to urbanization, analyze the impact caused, and formulate solutions that can be applied in South Tangerang City. The research method used is qualitative descriptive by utilizing secondary data obtained through literature studies and documentation from various official sources such as journals, books, government reports, and statistical data. The research results show that urbanization in South Tangerang City has an impact on the increase in population density, pressure on land availability, congestion, decrease in environmental quality, and increased needs for infrastructure and public services. However, urbanization also has a positive impact in the form of increased economic activity, investment opportunities, and expansion of employment. To overcome these challenges, sustainable city development planning, strengthening public transportation, spatial control, and improving the quality of basic services is needed. With the right strategy, urbanization can be managed so that it gives an optimal contribution to the development of South Tangerang City.
