Abstract

Stuttering is a speech fluency disorder that is often experienced by teenagers and has the potential to hinder communication and social interaction. This study aims to describe the factors that cause halting speech disorders in adolescents from a psycholinguistic perspective. The research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects were teenagers aged 13–18 years who experienced stuttering. Data collection was carried out through observation and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The research results show that halting speech disorders are influenced by neurological, psychological and social environmental factors. Psychological factors in the form of anxiety and pressure when speaking in public are the main triggers for increased stuttering. In addition, negative social experiences and a less supportive communication environment also increase the intensity of the disorder. These findings indicate that stuttering in adolescents is a complex phenomenon and is influenced by the interaction of various factors.
