This study was conducted at the Class IIA Correctional Institution in Bekasi, focusing on the implementation of visual information media to improve inmates’ understanding of their rights and obligations as stipulated in Law Number 22 of 2022 on Corrections. The main problem underlying this research is the low level of inmates’ awareness regarding their rights and obligations, caused by the limited availability of effective and accessible information media within the facility. The implementation method was carried out in a participatory and systematic manner through several stages: problem identification, material preparation, visual media design, content validation with prison officials, production and installation of the media, and direct socialization to inmates. The results showed that visual media in the form of banners placed in strategic locations successfully increased information exposure and facilitated the counseling process by officers. Evaluation through observation and simple interviews indicated an improvement in inmates’ understanding of their rights and obligations. In conclusion, the implementation of visual information media serves as an effective and sustainable solution for information dissemination in correctional settings and has the potential to be replicated in other prisons or detention centers as part of efforts to build a more informative and humanistic correctional system.
