PERAN PEMBELAJARAN IPAS DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER, WAWASAN KEBANGSAAN, DAN KESADARAN SOSIAL SISWA KELAS 5 DI SD NEGERI 52 KOTA BENGKULU

Abstract

This study aims to provide an in-depth description of the role of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning in shaping character, national insight, and social awareness among 5th-grade students at SD Negeri 52 Bengkulu City. In the context of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka), IPAS not only strengthens cognitive competencies but also functions as a medium for the development of affective and social skills. This research utilizes a qualitative descriptive method with data collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of learning activities. The findings reveal that IPAS learning contributes significantly to the cultivation of student character, particularly in aspects of discipline, responsibility, collaboration, and curiosity. National insight is developed through contextualized teaching materials related to Indonesian history and the local wisdom of Bengkulu. Meanwhile, social awareness grows through project-based learning that encourages cooperation, empathy, and environmental concern. Overall, this study concludes that holistic IPAS learning plays an important role in supporting the formation of the Pancasila Student Profile.
