EDUKASI TERAPI KOMPLEMENTER AKUPUNTUR SEBAGAI UPAYA MENGATASI NYERI PADA MASYARAKAT DI LINGKUNGAN GADING REJO

Abstract

Introduction: Pain is a common health problem influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors. Acupuncture therapy as a complementary treatment has been proven to help reduce pain through the stimulation of specific body points; however, public knowledge of its benefits remains low. This activity aimed to increase the understanding of the Tambah Karto Village community about acupuncture therapy as a measure to manage pain. Objective: To provide knowledge to the community in the Tambah Rejo area regarding the benefits of complementary acupuncture therapy as an alternative treatment for pain relief. Methods: The method used was health education, which included a pre-test, presentation of material, screening of an acupuncture technique video, distribution of leaflets, a Q&A session, and a post-test. The activity was attended by 20 participants. Results: The results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge, indicated by the average pre-test score of 40 increasing to 80 in the post-test. Furthermore, participant enthusiasm reached 90%.
