Abstract

Adolescents, especially girls, are vulnerable to anemia due to increased nutritional needs and imbalanced dietary patterns. Based on a survey by the Gading Rejo Community Health Center (2024-2025), the prevalence of anemia among female students at SMA Negeri 1 Gading Rejo reached 14.21%. This study aimed to implement nutrition education based on the Iron Go game to increase knowledge and awareness of anemia prevention. The method used was pre-experimental with a descriptive quantitative approach. The activity was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Gading Rejo involving 32 tenth-grade students. The intervention consisted of anemia counseling and the Iron Go board sticker game, which asked students to categorize foods based on their nutritional content related to anemia. Evaluation was conducted through a post-test of knowledge. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge, with 23 students (71.88%) in the good category and 1 student (3.13%) in the sufficient category. The Iron Go game media proved effective in creating interactive learning and improving students' understanding of iron sources, supporting and inhibiting factors for iron absorption, and the importance of Iron-Folic Acid Supplements (TTD). It is concluded that nutrition education based on the Iron Go game is an effective method to increase knowledge and can be adopted as an anemia prevention strategy in the school environment.
