Abstract

This program aims to improve the ability to recognize basic emotions through the application of Mandala Art Therapy for sixth-grade students at SDN 11 Tanjung Lago. This activity is part of the Thematic Community Service Program (KKNT) within the Impactful Campus program. Based on initial observations, students showed limitations in identifying, naming, and expressing emotions, as well as tendencies toward withdrawn or impulsive behavior. The method used was art-based intervention with mandala coloring techniques, implemented in structured sessions including emotion introduction, visual demonstrations, coloring activities, and reflection. The results showed a significant increase in students' ability to name at least three basic emotions, associate color choices with emotional states, and express feelings non-verbally. Students also became more focused, calm, and showed improved positive social interactions during the activity. Overall, Mandala Art Therapy proved effective as a simple, enjoyable, and developmentally appropriate approach for elementary school children to enhance emotional literacy and psychosocial well-being.
