PENGADAAN BAK SAMPAH DI DESA TARATAK BANCAH KOTA SAWAHLUNTO: LANGKAH KECIL UNTUK LINGKUNGAN YANG LEBIH BERSIH

Cleanliness is essential for ensuring a healthy and comfortable community life. One of the most common problems is waste, especially in rural areas that lack proper disposal facilities. This article discusses a Community Service Program (KKN) by Universitas Negeri Padang in Taratak Bancah Village, Silungkang Subdistrict, Sawahlunto City. The main activity was the construction of a permanent waste bin as an initial step toward better waste management in collaboration with the local community. The program applied a participatory method with a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the waste bin not only helps residents dispose of their waste more properly but also raises awareness of the importance of environmental cleanliness. Beyond providing a physical facility, the program encourages behavioral change, strengthens community cooperation, and supports the creation of a cleaner and more sustainable village environment.
