Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and marriage readiness in early adulthood. The research method employed a quantitative approach with purposive sampling technique. The participants consisted of 354 unmarried individuals in the early adulthood stage, aged between 18-29 years. Data were collected using psychological scales and analyzed using Pearson correlation through JASP software. The results revealed a significant positive correlation between self-esteem and marriage readiness (r = 0.346; p < 0.001). This indicates that higher levels of self-esteem are associated with higher levels of readiness for marriage. Self-esteem provided an effective contribution of 11.9% toward marriage readiness. The majority of respondents fell into the moderate to low categories for both self-esteem and marriage readiness, reflecting the characteristics of the emerging adulthood phase where individuals prioritize identity exploration and independence. The study concludes that while self-esteem serves as a fundamental internal foundation supporting psychological readiness for marriage, marriage readiness remains a multidimensional construct influenced by other external factors.
