PENGARUH EDUKASI PEMBERIAN EKSTRA TEMULAWAK TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI DISMENORE PADA REMAJA PUTRI DI SMPN 2 GADING REJO

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is a health problem that is often experienced by teenage girls and has an impact on learning activities and quality of life. Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) is known to contain curcumin which is anti-inflammatory and is believed to be able to reduce menstrual pain. This service activity aims to provide education and training about the utilization of temulawak as a natural alternative to the reduction of dysmenorrhea pain in SMPN 2 Gading Rejo students.The methods used include counseling, demonstration, discussion, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test on 30 respondents. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge, for example the understanding of the benefits of temulawak increased from 36% to 96%, and awareness of the risk of excessive use of chemical drugs increased from 56% to 88%. Conclusion: education on the use of temulawak is proven to increase the knowledge and awareness of adolescents in the treatment of dysmenorrhea naturally and safely.
