ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA TN. W KELUARGA TN. W DENGAN GANGGUAN SISTEM MUSKULOSKELETAL: GOUT ARTHRITIS DI DESA PURWODADI RT 01 RW 04 KECAMATAN TONJONG KABUPATEN BREBES
Abstract
Gout arthritis is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in uric acid levels in the blood due to disturbances in purine metabolism. This condition causes the accumulation of monosodium urate crystals in the joints, leading to pain, swelling, and inflammation, especially in the lower extremities. This scientific paper aims to provide an overview of family nursing care for Mr. W from the W family, who suffers from a musculoskeletal disorder in the form of gout arthritis in Purwodadi Village, RT 01 RW 04, Tonjong District, Brebes Regency. Data collection methods included interviews, observation, physical examination, and documentation studies using the nursing process approach. The assessment results identified two main nursing diagnoses: chronic pain related to chronic musculoskeletal conditions and knowledge deficit related to limited exposure to information about gout arthritis. Nursing interventions included pain management through warm ginger compresses, relaxation techniques, and health education about the causes, symptoms, and prevention of gout arthritis. The interventions were implemented over two days, and the evaluation results showed a decrease in pain intensity and an increase in patient and family knowledge regarding care management and disease prevention. Proper application of family nursing care can help improve patients’ and families’ abilities in managing the disease and enhance the quality of life of individuals with gout arthritis.
