ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA TN. A DENGAN HALUSINASI PENDENGARAN MELALUI PENDEKATAN TERAPI MENULIS EKSPRESIF DI RUMAH SAKIT JIWA ACEH

Abstract

Hallucinations are one of the positive symptoms commonly
experienced by patients with schizophrenia, particularly in
the form of auditory hallucinations. If not properly managed,
this condition can increase the risk of violent behavior, social
isolation, and low self-esteem. This case study aims to
provide nursing care using an expressive writing therapy
approach for a patient with auditory hallucinations at Aceh
Mental Hospital. The intervention was conducted over a
period of seven days, consisting of four stages of therapy,
with each session lasting 10 to 30 minutes daily. The results
showed a reduction in the Auditory Hallucination Rating Scale
(AHRS) score from 22 to 13, with significant improvements in
aspects such as belief in the origin of voices, intensity of
negative voices, number of distressing voices, disruption
caused by the voices, and control over the voices. This nursing
intervention also contributed to a more positive emotional
response from the patient, who felt calmer and was able to
express emotions through writing. Expressive writing therapy
has proven to be beneficial and is recommended as a nursing
intervention for managing auditory hallucinations in patients
with schizophrenia.
