HUBUNGAN INFORMASI MEDIA SOSIAL (FACEBOOK) DAN PARITAS DENGAN PENGGUNAAN ALAT KONTRASEPSI IUD PADA WANITA USIA SUBUR DI WILAYAH KERJA UPTD PUSKESMAS SEKUPANG KOTA BATAM TAHUN 2024

Abstract

The use of IUD contraception in women of childbearing age is still not optimal. This is because the lack of information obtained by prospective acceptors greatly influences the use of IUD contraception. In addition, parity also affects the use of IUD contraception. The number of parities will affect acceptors to use IUDs. The purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between social media information (Facebook) and parity with the use of IUD contraception in women of childbearing age in the work area of ​​the Sekupang Health Center UPTD, Batam City in 2024. The type of research used was quantitative research with a cross-sectional research design. The sample used was 70 women of childbearing age who were taken using the Accidental sampling technique. Based on the results of the study, only 34 people (24%) received information who used IUDs and 5 people (15%) did not. Meanwhile, those who did not receive information, only 9 people (19%) used IUDs and 22 people (12%) did not use them. Then for parity, 1 (8%) primipara used an IUD, while 12 (5%) did not use it. Then for multipara parity, 32 people (24.6%) used an IUD, while 8 people (15.4%) did not. And grande multipara women of childbearing age, 10 people (10.4%) used an IUD and 7 people (6.6%) did not. The results of the statistical test showed a relationship between social media information (Facebook) and parity with the use of IUD contraception in women of childbearing age in the working area of ​​the Sekupang Health Center UPTD, Batam City in 2024 (p- value = 0.000 and 0.000 < 0.05). The results of this study are expected to be input in increasing the use of IUD contraception in women of childbearing age.
