GAYA HIDUP DAN KEBIASAAN  MAKAN YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN RISIKO DIABETES MELITUS PADA GENERASI Z

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease that is increasingly prevalent and is beginning to threaten young people, including Generation Z, due to the influence of unhealthy lifestyles and eating habits. This study aims to examine lifestyle patterns and eating habits associated with diabetes risk in Generation Z. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach through a questionnaire completed by 50 respondents. The results showed that the majority of respondents had low physical activity (56%), a habit of sitting for too long (62%), irregular sleep patterns (54%), and frequently consumed fast food (58%) and sweetened drinks (64%), while fruit and vegetable consumption was still low (58%). Based on the diabetes risk assessment, 52% of respondents were in the moderate risk category and 18% were in the high risk category. The study concluded that unhealthy lifestyles and eating habits have the potential to increase the risk of diabetes mellitus in Generation Z, so early education and prevention are needed to encourage a healthy lifestyle at a young age.
