This article discusses the pedagogical innovation in Islamic Studies at the Primary School/<h2> Madrasah Ibtidaiyah</h2> (MI) level through the synergy between the Deep Learning (DL) approach and the Love-Based Curriculum (LBC). Deep Learning focuses on conceptual understanding, reflection, and the transfer of knowledge to real-life contexts, while the LBC positions universal values such as compassion, empathy, and justice as the core principles of teaching. The key implementing institutions include Madrasah Ibtidaiyah under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) and Integrated Islamic Primary Schools (SDIT) that integrate these two approaches into their Islamic Studies lessons. The goal is to transform Islamic Education from mere memorization into a profound internalization of values, aimed at cultivating students with noble character who are prepared to face global challenges with a solid spiritual foundation.
