Waste management in tourist areas is a major challenge, especially in coastal areas frequented by tourists. The Carita tourist area in Pandeglang often experiences post-holiday waste accumulation, which impacts environmental quality and visitor comfort. The local government has implemented administrative sanctions for substandard management of the Bangkonol Landfill, but their effectiveness remains limited. This study analyzes the effectiveness of administrative sanctions in managing tourism waste in Carita using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and news analysis. The results indicate that administrative sanctions are important as a legal instrument, but their success depends on regular monitoring, management capacity, community participation, and sustainable management strategies, including waste sorting systems, visitor education, and improvements to landfill facilities. This integrated approach is expected to create a clean, comfortable, and sustainable Carita tourist area.
