This study evaluates the technical and functional quality of an open-source Cash Management System using the international software testing standard ISO/IEC 29119 as the primary benchmark. The assessment adopts a standard-based quantitative approach with an emphasis on functional verification through black-box testing and database integrity analysis. The system was deployed in a local testing environment to simulate real operational conditions and to identify potential failures during execution.
The testing process revealed several critical issues within the core system infrastructure. Out of four critical test cases executed, only one test case passed successfully, resulting in a test case pass rate of 25%. Major defects were identified in the database-related components, including failures during the migration process and improper handling of foreign key constraints, which caused system instability during deployment and execution. These defects significantly affected the reliability of transactional features and data consistency.
Based on ISO/IEC 29119 testing metrics, including defect density, test effectiveness, and risk coverage, the system achieved a feasibility score of 56.25%. This score indicates that, although the system can be executed in a controlled environment, it is not yet suitable for operational release. Substantial improvements, particularly in database schema design and validation logic, are required to ensure system stability, reliability, and compliance with functional requirements.
