ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA BY. NY. R DENGAN BAYI BERAT LAHIR RENDAH (BBLR) DAN ASFIKSIA RINGAN DI RUANG PERINATOLOGI RSUD MUHAMMAD SANI

Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) babies are one of the main problems in the field of neonatology which can cause growth and development disorders if not treated optimally. Appropriate and structured nursing care plays an important role in achieving optimal weight in LBW babies, especially in the hospital perinatology room. This study aims to analyze the implementation of nursing care for LBW babies towards achieving optimal body weight in the Perinatology room at Muhammad Sani Regional Hospital. This research used a descriptive method with a case study approach on one LBW baby who was treated for three days. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, documentation studies, and daily weight measurements. Nursing care is provided according to the stages of the nursing process, from assessment to evaluation. The results of the implementation of nursing care showed a gradual increase in body weight. The interventions carried out include providing adequate nutrition, monitoring vital signs, and implementing Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC). Optimal thermal environmental support also helps the baby's physiological stability. Implementation of appropriate and continuous nursing care has been proven to contribute to achieving optimal weight in LBW babies. The nurse's role is very important in providing interventions that suit the baby's individual condition and needs.
