Learning about temperature and heat is one of the basic subjects in physics, but various studies show that high school students still have quite high misconceptions on this topic. This study uses a literature review method by analyzing the results of research from various scientific articles and national journals published in the last five years. The purpose of this study is to identify misconceptions among high school students regarding the topic of temperature and heat based on an analysis of ten previous research articles. The results of the analysis show that misconceptions most often occur in the subtopic of specific heat. The three-tier test, five-tier test, and certainty of response index (CRI) are the instruments most widely used in previous studies to identify misconceptions. This study concludes that the main cause of misconceptions among students is that they still use their own understanding in everyday life, which differs from the actual concept. Therefore, to minimize misconceptions about heat and temperature, a number of learning steps are used, namely particle level visualization, Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) activities, and inquiry learning with direct exploration.
