Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of eighth-grade A students at MTs YPII Kotarih to pronounce Arabic sounds and to identify the obstacles faced by eighth-grade A students at MTs YPII Kotarih in pronouncing Arabic sounds. The data collection methods used were interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis method used was the Miles and Huberman method. The results of this study are: 1) The ability of eighth-grade A students at MTs YPII Kotarih to pronounce Arabic sounds is weak. 2) The obstacles faced by eighth-grade A students at MTs YPII Kotarih in pronouncing Arabic sounds include their lack of interest and enthusiasm for learning Arabic, and most of them did not study the Quran or did not attend Madrasah Diniyah Awaliyyah (MDA) as children.
