This study aims to analyze the development of Green Information Systems (Green IS) in the context of Information Technology and its relevance to the educational sector. The research uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by comparing three major studies focused on bibliometric analysis and adoption frameworks of Green IT/IS. The findings indicate that Green IS research has developed significantly in the last two decades and is increasingly relevant for implementation in higher education. This study provides new direction for students and researchers in developing sustainable technology.
