EDUKASI POSYANDU WUJUD NYATA CINTA KELUARGA TERHADAP KESEHATAN DI NAGARI KOTO HILALANG

Abstract

Health is a fundamental aspect in improving the quality of life of the community. Integrated Service Posts (Posyandu) play a crucial role as a community-based health service provider that focuses on promotive and preventive efforts, particularly for pregnant women, toddlers, and the elderly. This study aims to raise public awareness of the importance of Posyandu through the program "Posyandu Education: A Real Manifestation of Family Love for Health in Nagari Koto Hilalang, Kubung District, Solok Regency." The method used was a participatory approach by involving the community and Posyandu cadres in outreach, training, and mentoring activities. The results of the activity showed an increase in community understanding of the function of Posyandu as well as increased participation of mothers in routine toddler weighing and nutrition consultations. In addition, Posyandu cadres became more skilled in detecting early signs of stunting risk and providing appropriate nutrition education to families. These findings are in line with previous research that states that cadre empowerment and ongoing education have a positive correlation with increased Posyandu visits and a decrease in stunting prevalence. This program proves that through synergy between students, the community, and health workers, Posyandu can function optimally as a real manifestation of family love for health. Thus, community education and empowerment are effective strategies in building a healthy lifestyle culture and preventing stunting at the local level.
