Abstract
Abortion is a complex issue in health psychology that not only affects women's physical health but also has various psychological consequences. This article aims to synthesize previous research findings on the psychological consequences experienced by women after abortion. The method used was a narrative literature review with articles searched through the Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases. The literature was selected based on inclusion criteria in the form of full-text articles, focusing on women after abortion, published within the last ten years (2015-2025), and using English or Indonesian. Based on the selection process, seven relevant articles were obtained for analysis. The results of the study showed that abortion is associated with various psychological consequences, particularly depression, anxiety, and guilt. These findings confirm that the post-abortion experience needs to be understood as a psychological issue that requires attention in health services and psychosocial support for women.
