Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of self efficacy on career decision making among twelfth grade vocational high school students. The research sample consisted of 98 students who were randomly selected from the entire population of twelfth grade students. A quantitative approach was employed using correlational analysis and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. Data were collected through a self efficacy questionnaire consisting of 24 items and a career decision questionnaire consisting of 18 items using a Likert scale, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. The results indicate that self efficacy has a positive and significant relationship with career decision making, as evidenced by a Pearson correlation value of r = 0.777 with a significance level of 0.000 which is less than 0.05. The simple linear regression analysis also produced an R Square value of 0.603, indicating that self efficacy contributes 60.3 percent to career decision making. The regression equation Y = 10.567 + 0.627X demonstrates that higher levels of student self efficacy are associated with better career decisions.
