Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between loneliness and learning motivation among migrant students. The relocation of students from their home regions to a new educational environment requires social, cultural, and academic adjustment processes that often generate psychological pressure, particularly feelings of loneliness. Such conditions may affect students’ enthusiasm, engagement, and persistence in academic activities. This study assumes that loneliness is an important psychological factor that contributes to decreased learning motivation among migrant students. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed to examine the relationship between the two variables. The results of data analysis indicate a significant relationship between loneliness and learning motivation, suggesting that higher levels of perceived loneliness are associated with lower learning motivation among migrant students. These findings highlight the need for greater attention to the psychological well-being of migrant students in higher education. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of social support, strengthening self-regulation, and fostering a supportive academic environment to maintain and enhance the learning motivation of migrant students.
