Abstract

Children with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) often exhibit difficulties in emotional regulation, defiant behavior, and problems in social interactions in the school environment. This study aims to describe the assessment process and implementation of the "Sahabat Percaya Diri" intervention program designed to improve emotional regulation, self-confidence, and adaptive behavior in children with mild Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) tendencies. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews with children, teachers, and parents, the use of internalization-externalization instruments, and the Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA). The assessment results showed that the children experienced a combination of internalizing behaviors in the form of social anxiety and withdrawal and externalizing behaviors in the form of hyperactivity and defiant behavior. The "Sahabat Percaya Diri" intervention program was implemented through several structured meetings that emphasized emotional regulation training, strengthening positive self-image, and social skills. Results showed a decrease in defiant behavior, an increase in emotional management skills, and improvements in children's social interactions at school. This program emphasizes the importance of functional assessment-based interventions and collaboration between schools and families in addressing children with emotional and behavioral challenges.
