Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of Financial Technology (Fintech) in supporting the development of Islamic banking in Indonesia and its contribution to improving Indonesia's ranking in the State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) within the Islamic Finance sector. Employing a descriptive qualitative research method and secondary data from various literature sources, this study identifies that Indonesian Islamic banking faces main challenges including sharia compliance, data security and privacy, human resource limitations, and low public literacy and awareness. Through a literature review approach, this research finds that fintech adoption can be a strategic solution to address these challenges. Fintech can enhance transparency and operational efficiency, strengthen sharia compliance monitoring systems, and support more inclusive Islamic financial education. The implementation of fintech integrated with sharia principles is expected to strengthen the competitiveness and performance of Islamic banking, which in turn contributes to improving Indonesia's position in the SGIE index, particularly in the Islamic finance sector. This study concludes that collaboration between Islamic banking and fintech is a crucial step to accelerate the growth of Indonesia's Islamic economy at the global level.
