This article aims to determine the role of philosophy of science on the impact of the development of science and technology (IPTEK). Technology and science, which are increasingly pampering humans, are attracting a lot of attention, especially among the millennial generation. Knowledge that develops in tune with the civilization of the times cannot be rejected or temporarily stopped, but this can be responded to wisely. Humans as actors in the development of science and technology need to realize the importance of philosophy to provide realistic and logical limits for developing science so as not to harm humans, nature and the environment. The method used in this article is the library research method. The results of this article reveal that the philosophy of science needs its presence amidst the development of science and technology which is marked by increasingly sharpening scientific specialization. The philosophy of science provides a view for society so that it is not lulled and complacent by the presence of current developments. As members of society, and especially the younger generation, we can take representative and preventive steps to prevent as much as possible the negative impact of technology on life. The conclusion of this article is that the development of science and technology cannot be separated from the philosophy of science. The philosophy of science in the development of science and technology plays a key role in science and scientific testing facilities so that it can share critical and logical thinking regarding the current growth of knowledge and technology.
