Student attendance recording system is an essential component in higher education academic management. This study aims to analyze the implementation of MySQL database in web-based student attendance recording system. The research method uses descriptive analysis with qualitative and quantitative approaches to database structure, normalization, and query performance. The analysis results show that database structure with normalization up to third normal form (3NF) can reduce data redundancy by 65% and improve storage efficiency. The use of proper table relations produces data integrity with error rates below 2%. SELECT query performance for displaying attendance data shows an average execution time of 0.23 seconds for 1000 records. Implementation of indexes on primary key and foreign key columns increases data search speed by up to 40%. The conclusion of this study is that a well-designed MySQL database structure can support an efficient, accurate, and scalable attendance recording system for implementation in higher education institutions.
