In today’s digital environment, university students increasingly struggle to maintain academic attention due to technology distractions and the overwhelming nature of modern productivity tools. This research describes the design and development of SmartPlanner, a time-management application built on UX-driven concepts targeted at enhancing student organisation and task efficiency. An interactive prototype was created using a User-centred Design (UCD) process, and it was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) and the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). A SUS score of 78.8, which indicates a Good to Excellent degree of usability, was obtained from the usability assessment. Furthermore, UEQ results showed positive user perceptions, especially in terms of efficiency, clarity, and beauty, confirming that the streamlined interface effectively reduces cognitive load. The findings imply that a user-oriented and minimalist interface greatly supports students in managing priorities and fulfilling academic tasks more successfully than traditional, sophisticated productivity tools, giving a viable digital strategy for academic time management.
