Abstract
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the important pillars in the Indonesian economy, especially in Bekasi City with a significant contribution to GDP and employment. However, there are obstacles in the growth of MSMEs related to limited access to financing. This study aims to analyze the role of People's Business Credit (KUR) distributed by Bank Rakyat Indonesia Bekasi City Branch as a program created by the Government to help MSMEs overcome obstacles related to business capital to be able to increase the scale of MSME businesses. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through semi-structured interviews with 10 MSME business actors as recipients of the People's Business Credit (KUR) program and key informants from BRI MBM (Micro Business Manager) internally. The results of the study show that the KUR application procedure is relatively easy and accessible to business actors, the KUR program has also been proven to have a positive impact by increasing working capital, profits, and profitability of MSME businesses. Affordable interest subsidies are the main driving factor in submitting KUR applications, indirectly KUR also contributes to job creation and poverty reduction, it can be concluded that KUR functions as a strategic policy instrument to encourage financial inclusion and the growth of MSMEs in the City. Continuous evaluation of this program is needed to optimize its impact.
