Abstract

This study aims to develop an Internet of Things system based on the ESP32 microcontroller integrated with an external Artificial Intelligence (AI) Application Programming Interface (API) to monitor and analyze soil fertility in real time. The system is designed to measure key soil fertility parameters, namely nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), and moisture levels, using an NPK sensor and a soil moisture sensor. The collected data are transmitted to a local server for AI processing, which then generates automated fertilizer recommendations based on soil fertility categories and delivers them to users via a Telegram Bot. The research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) model, which includes the stages of concept, design, material collecting, assembly, and testing. The test results indicate that the system successfully detects NPK and moisture levels with good consistency, transmits data stably to the server, and generates fertilizer recommendations that align with the actual soil conditions. The integration of IoT and AI through API enhances the functional value of the system, as it not only presents raw data but also provides intelligent recommendations to assist farmers in decision-making. This system is expected to serve as an initial step toward the implementation of efficient, adaptive, and sustainable AI-based precision agriculture.
