Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology offers significant benefits but also contributes to negative mental health outcomes, including stress, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and digital fatigue. This study aims to describe digital wellbeing strategies as efforts to mitigate these negative effects. A descriptive qualitative method was used through a literature review of recent studies on digital wellbeing, self-regulation, and technology-use behavior. The findings indicate that digital wellbeing strategies operate at both individual and institutional levels. Individual strategies include screen-time management, app-limiting features, digital mindfulness, and periodic digital detox. Institutional strategies involve digital literacy campaigns, training on healthy technology use, and policies promoting digital balance in schools, universities, and workplaces. The results show that these strategies effectively reduce digital stress, improve sleep quality, and enhance self-regulation. Overall, digital wellbeing is a crucial approach for fostering healthier and more balanced digital habits to support mental health in the technological era.
